Description:	Dear Sir or Madam, Through this letter we would like to introduce ourselves and let you know an idea which has come across our minds. We are a group of students who are studying a bachelor on Computer Engineering Management at Deusto Univeristy in San Sebastian (Spain). At the moment we are working on our final project which mainly consists on translating the different voices in Asterisk to the Basque language. We have considered doing this translation because it has not been done before and because it might be valuable for the Basque enterprises. We have already translated and recorded the voices in Asterisk to the Basque language, with the correct formats and features. We would like to upload our work to http://downloads.asterisk.org/pub/telephony/sounds/ and that is why we require your help in order to know which are the steps we have to follow to do that. How will you be recording the prompts? Who will be doing the recordings? We require prompts to be professionally recorded in order to distribute them with Asterisk. Thanks! The voices have been recorded by two of us, a male voice and a female voice. The translation of those voices have been supervised by professional translators. We would also be ready to translate more voices in Basque if necessary in the future. Feel free to email me at lmadsen -at- digium -dot- comb (minus b). As I can't speak that language natively, it would be ideal that some sample files were made available by both voices so that someone else who speaks the language from the community can give a thumbs up as to the quality. I'm sure they are fine, but it's hard to judge quality when you can't speak the language :) If approved, I would certainly welcome more prompts in the future! Thanks! Leif. There is a maintenance burden that comes with adding each new language and we don't want to spread ourselves too thin on languages that are not widely used. For minor languages, we recommend the contributors host the language set on their own site and alert the community to its availability via the mailing lists and forums.
