Description:This looks like fixed in ASTERISK-17620 (https://issues.asterisk.org/view.php?id=19040)
But in 1.8.4.1 tarball I still get old cdr_mysql.conf.sample.

Closed by mistake.

Can you try to remove the line:

alias callerid => clid

from the file:

cdr_mysql.conf

Then reload.

If this does not work you might need to update to the latest version of Asterisk.

There was a bug where clid was not set at all (not just in MySQL) that has been resolved and there was also a bug whereby the alias is no longer required.

For all intents and purposes, this appears to have been fixed by Tilghman in r311930.

Looking at the {{cdr_mysql.conf.sample}} file, the alias is {{clid}}, as it should be.
