Description: | From http://googledevelopers.blogspot.com/2012/09/adding-oauth-20-support-for-imapsmtp.html Google has deprecated SASL PLAIN. It will remain active until ClientLogin's Accounts API is deprecated - April 20 of 2015. See - https://developers.google.com/accounts/terms Asterisk 1.8 and 10 will be out of support by then. But, 11 will still be in active development. So, it's not a major severity now, but during the lifetime of Asterisk 11 res_xmpp will cease to be able to log into Google (probably). We should do something about that before Google discontinues SASL PLAIN authentication. | ||
Comments: | By: Malcolm Davenport (mdavenport) 2014-05-29 16:50:08.995-0500 With the death (zombies?) of Google Voice XMPP connectivity, this doesn't seem to carry a lot of weight now. |
