is a clone ofASTERISK-24298 CLONE - option allowexternaldomains behavior changed between release versions
Environment:Centos with digium/asterisk.org repositoryAttachments:( 0) full_NOK
( 1) full_OK
( 2) sip.conf
Description:Hello,

It seems that the behavior of allowexternaldomains=yes change from 11.4 to 11.5.1

For example with asterisk 11.4 with sip.conf settings :
; sip domain settings
autodomain = yes
; sip-to-sip security related settings
allowexternaldomains = yes

No problem to register from a 1.8.13 asterisk from a non local domain

But with 11.5.1 with same settings :
I've got in CLI :
[Oct  2 09:11:46] NOTICE[2315]: chan_sip.c:27919 handle_request_register: Registration from '<sip:antoine@10.3.1.183;transport=UDP>' failed for '192.168.20.11:6060' - Not a local domain

Please attach a full, sanitized sip.conf configuration for each version, and example VERBOSE,DEBUG output (full log, see logger.conf) for both the working and non-working versions.

Didn't see this until now since the Enter Feedback or Send Back buttons were not hit. We'll take a look. Thanks for the debug and configs.

The Server: and User-Agent: headers in your SIP responses for the full_OK trace show "Asterisk PBX 11.5.1".

I'd say it was a bug if it didn't look like the same Asterisk version in use in both traces, but even still it would be odd if the configuration didn't change between the two.

I'm also interested in what happens when you specify the same domains that autodomain should be setting?

Can you test with specified domains, and provide an example of behavior on 11.4 as well as 11.5.1, or clarify why the full_OK trace shows Asterisk 11.5.1 as the version in use.

Suspended due to lack of activity. Please request a bug marshal in #asterisk-bugs on the IRC network irc.freenode.net to reopen the issue should you have the additional information requested.  Further information can be found at http://www.asterisk.org/developers/bug-guidelines

This is still a problem in version 11.12.0. If you have allowexternaldomains=yes and autodomain=yes then you receive the "Not a local domain" error message even if you have hard coded the external domain in sip.conf and said domain shows up in the CLI under "sip show domains".

Please provide the information that Rusty requested:

Sorry guys I've just been too swamped with work at my job here lately to be able to provide the feedback your requesting in a timely manner. I will try to get some testing in and hopefully have some new information for you some time next week.

No worries - I'll set the issue back in Waiting on Feedback. Thanks for updating.

Closing out issue as it has been a few more weeks with no response. [~royalpublishing] At this point, since the original reporter isn't responding. It may make sense just open a new issue when you get the additional debug needed.
