Thanks for creating a report! The issue has entered the triage process. That means the issue will wait in this status until a Bug Marshal has an opportunity to review the issue. Once the issue has been reviewed you will receive comments regarding the next steps towards resolution.

A good first step is for you to review the [Asterisk Issue Guidelines|https://wiki.asterisk.org/wiki/display/AST/Asterisk+Issue+Guidelines] if you haven't already. The guidelines detail what is expected from an Asterisk issue report.

Then, if you are submitting a patch, please review the [Patch Contribution Process|https://wiki.asterisk.org/wiki/display/AST/Patch+Contribution+Process].

I have:
{noformat}
root@system:~/test/asterisk-13.8.0# cat /etc/issue
Ubuntu 14.04.4 LTS \n \l
{noformat}

I pulled:
{noformat}
wget http://downloads.asterisk.org/pub/telephony/asterisk/asterisk-13-current.tar.gz
{noformat}

I can successfully decompress and unpack the file:
{noformat}
tar xvfz asterisk-13-current.tar.gz
{noformat}

Where did your Asterisk tarball come from?

By: Alex (Tigratius) 2016-04-14 14:12:42.667-0500

I pulled too:
wget http://downloads.asterisk.org/pub/telephony/asterisk/asterisk-13-current.tar.gz

Then:
tar xvfz asterisk-13-current.tar.gz

Result is:
gzip: stdin: invalid compressed data--crc error
asterisk-13.8.0/doc/appdocsxml.dtd
tar: Child returned status 1
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now

What's your md5sum for the tarball?  Is it ad48eb4a01df72c8e30d3aec524b1a02 ?

/usr/src$ md5sum asterisk-13-curr*
1cae837f4f79c6eb3ede94a654cd1a10  asterisk-13-current.tar.gz

Your sum is wrong.  See:
