Description:When we play .mp3 files back through the Asterisk Playback function that last over 30 minutes, the playback quality becomes jittery/poor. If we listen to the .mp3 file through an external player such as VLC, the quality is fine.

If the .mp3 file is under 30 minutes, the call quality is fine.

Has anyone experienced this problem?

Does it matter if the length of the audio is over 30 minutes , or is it only the length of the call being over 30 minutes?

By: Jamie Coventry (JC123) 2017-01-06 03:11:38.731-0600

Thanks for getting back to me. The issue occurs when the length of the audio is over 30 minutes. If there is a 45-minute call but only 15 minutes of audio, there are no call quality problems when playing back the call through the Playback function.

Strange. I'll see if I can reproduce it so that we can look at it here.

Since you mentioned mp3 specifically I'm presuming you've tested this with other sound formats?

By: Jamie Coventry (JC123) 2017-01-06 08:33:21.178-0600

Yes, I forgot to mention that I have tested with .wav and the file plays back perfectly, even if the audio is over 30 minutes long.

I messed around with this a few times and I wasn't able to reproduce the issue.

You'll need to develop very direct step by step instructions for reproducing the issue. Include a download link for a sample sound file to use, configuration files necessary and describe anything else needed to reproduce.
