Description:In this thread: http://lists.digium.com/pipermail/asterisk-users/2017-June/291590.html

Several users have reported having their subscriptions recently or frequently disabled due to excessive bouncing.

We should see if we can do anything on the administration side.

We've looked into this in the past and we couldn't find any issue on Digium's side, but it has been a long time so we should look again.

Everytime I send a message to the mailinglist from my DMARCed domain, I get multiple reports of nondelivery (google/comcast/microsoft and many smaller mail operators that honor DMARC) because the message has no valid DKIM record.

If this is the/a cause of the reported problem, DKIM signing before relaying via SMTP is the solution on the list smtpd. See my remarks in the thread
http://lists.digium.com/pipermail/asterisk-users/2017-June/291499.html
Contains a solution for the used MTA and ends with indicating bouncing as a possible problem.

I get bounce reports very infrequently, suggesting it is not some systematic list configuration, but rather some inbound message attribute occasionally causing (perhaps legitimate) bounces. I would guess at a virus or spam type payload that the list is passing but Gmail then rejects.

I'd suggest capturing bounces so they can be reviewed for cause, preferably in the first instance by the owner of the bouncing account, rather than a list admin.

Me too, also gmail. Just happened again - twice this week now.

I'm definitely with Steve Davies on this one about capturing bounces, otherwise we're snookered (one for the Brits there!)

I could be wrong, but like dtryba commented, I'm guessing there may be an incorrect DMARC
policy somewhere - although this is the only fail I could find in theheaders.

bounces@lists.digium.com;
      dmarc=fail (p=NONE sp=NONE dis=NONE) header.from=gmail.com

I'm now watching the bounces from the list admin side as we get them. So far there is no clear pattern, they are for a variety of different reasons and across a number of domains, plus fairly infrequent. About one or two every other day day on a list with many thousands of members. I'm going to gather them for a while to see if I can find a majority or any other patterns.

If you run into an issue, please let me know immediately and E-mail me directly. rnewton at digium dot com.

[~dtryba] , I've only looked briefly, but it appears we do DKIM signing. I'm not sure if we do it correctly as I'm new to it and learning. I'll look into that aspect further.

This has happened to me again. Interestingly, The -commit and -dev lists had no problem over the same period, even though they are more busy.

There have been no reports of this in recent times. If this is incorrect please file a new issue.

Unfortunate that you should choose now to close this ticket as it has just started happening again for me this week (Once last Friday and once Yesterday).

Of course I might be alone in that, and it may not persist.

I've reopened this but don't have a time frame on when it will get looked into.

I was unsubscribed over thanksgiving for bounces to my gmail account, second time this month.

Same here - hadn't had the issue since 8th August, but had 3 such messages on 16th, 24th and 25th November

Same here though I currently can't be as precise as in Jonathan's testimony.
