Description:I'm going to put together a new set of phrases for Allison to record.  I'm taking requests, and donations.  If I don't get enough donations, I'll have to prioritize the list and cut some requests...

Post requests and/or suggestions here.  I'll attach my list soon.

It is not necessary to dial a 1 when dialing this number.
You must first dial 9 when dialing this number.
It is not necessary to dial a 1 or the area code when dialing this number

Just one small request:

"Call Waiting"

I don't think a recording of her saying this exists.

By: dpocock (dpocock) 2004-12-09 14:01:29.000-0600

I've listed below a few things that are missing, I'm not sure if they are just missing from the Debian package or missing completely from Asterisk.

These new phrases are essential for currencies (in the digits subdirectory):
- euro (ALREADY EXISTS in asterisk-sounds)
- cent
- cents (ALREADY EXISTS in asterisk-sounds)
- pound (ALREADY EXISTS in asterisk-sounds)
- pence
- penny
- p (the British often say 'p' instead of pence or penny or pennies) (ALREADY EXISTS in asterisk-sounds)

I also couldn't find 'point' as in (.), the decimal point.

There are many other currencies, maybe people can post which ones are important.

Also, the use of the word 'pound' for the hash (#) key - most of the world just says 'hash', but this seems to be missing at the moment.  It would be great to have both. (ALREADY EXISTS in asterisk-sounds)

I don't think there is a recording of "press 0" to match the other numbers. (ALREADY EXISTS in asterisk-sounds) - NO IT DOESN'T - press-1 through press-9 exist, but not press-0.

I'd like a "Please answer the following"

I have an agi using a little math and I don't see an appropriate prompt to ask the user to answer it.

Please, please, PLEASE check the asterisk-sounds repository before making duplicate requests here.

For bug ASTERISK-2350:

conf-waitforleader - "The conference will begin when the leader arrives."
conf-userwilljoin - (1) "user will join the conference."
conf-userswilljoin - (N) "users will join the conference."
conf-leaderhasleft - "The leader has left the conference."
conf-placeintoconf - "You will now be placed into the conference."

It'd be nice to have some prompts to match up with cause codes and standard error messages.  What I see missing is:
-If you need help, please hang up and dial the operator.
-Your call cannot be completed due to network error.
-Your call cannot be completed due to a temporary error
-Your call cannot be completed due to an error at the receiving telephone company.
-Your call cannot be completed as dialed
-Please hang up and try your call again later.
-We're sorry (I'm sorry is already recorded...)
-We apologize
-but (with inflection for "we're sorry, but our switch has just exploded")
-No route exists to the dialed destintation
-Service or option not implemented
-This call has be preempted
-The last error on this line was
-Cause code
-Q dot 931
-message number
-error number

Also, for the SPs, how about:
-C L L I
-You have reached a test number.
-The tones that follow are for the deaf
-Test tones follow...

And
-For quality control and training purposes, this call may be monitored or recored.

If the cause codes get recorded, I might just be tempted to make an application/AGI to automatically handle them.

I looked at those two wiki pages just now. There are a lot of requests, but no indication as to who might act on them, when and how likely.

There's already a "to dial by name press"

But it sounds different from the "for sales" "press 1" combos.

Could we have a "to dial by name", with out the "press"?

A different inflection for "otherwise" would be nice.  For use when doing something like "if you know your parties extension, dial it now" "otherwise" "to dial by name" "press pound".  The current "otherwise" sticks out.

By: icdinc (icdinc) 2004-12-09 17:56:40.000-0600

"Please enter the first three letters of your parties first _or_ last name"

By: Tilghman Lesher (tilghman) 2004-12-09 19:10:18.000-0600

We also need Allison saying the following words:
moron
idiot
fucktard

By: cyb (cyb) 2004-12-09 21:39:56.000-0600

"Please enter your numeric message after the tone."

Who would you like to call?
You step in the stream, but the water has moved on.

By: Dmytro Mishchenko (arkadia) 2004-12-10 02:20:39.000-0600

- a connect charge
- for the first
- The number is currently busy
- Minute
- Minutes
- The number is not answering
- You do not have enough credit to dial this number
- cents per minute
- point
- seconds
- will apply
- This call will cost

By: gabb0 (gabb0) 2004-12-10 08:24:56.000-0600

I think there is likely a need for phrases such as:

"Your confirmation number is"

"This X is now being recorded"
"This X is no longer being recorded"
- where X can either be "call", "conference", whatever

By: Jeffrey C. Ollie (jcollie) 2004-12-10 08:35:58.000-0600

"this is the voice mail system"
"the mailbox"
"has"
"to log in to voice mail"
"to hang up"

Also, could we move the "sounds/for.gsm" from asterisk-sounds into CVS HEAD?

Donation sent via PayPal.

I've just uploaded my current list, which should include everything requested here so far, and everything on both (!) Wiki pages.

It hasn't yet been compared to what's already in CVS, but it will be...

I'm not planning on sending a request to Allison for a couple weeks -- enough time for anyone interested to make a request, donate (!), and for me to finish reviewing and editing the request list.

Donations are respectfully requested.  It won't take many people donating $10 or $20 for us to get an hour (or two) of Allison's time.  I will not be having her spend time editing.  I'm going to do that myself, which will result in a lot more recordings for our dollars.  It will also mean I'll have many hours of work to do after Allison's work is finished.

By: sprior (sprior) 2004-12-10 11:50:21.000-0600

I have some things which would be nice to get recorded, but probably
wouldn't be that interesting in general (my domain name and some
other stuff specific to my household), though if anybody wants them that's fine with me.  I suspect a number of us have similar wishlist items which can't fill an hour block of Allison's time but would cost a lot under the pay per phrase deal.  Rob, maybe it would help you pad out the order if you allowed people to fund blocks of time for the more custom stuff?

By: paulc (paulc) 2004-12-10 13:25:22.000-0600

"prompt number"
"announcement number"
"followed by pound"
"followed by the pound key"

By: paulc (paulc) 2004-12-10 13:27:26.000-0600

Also.. I was looking at the wiki pages the other day.. seems it hasn't been updated in quite a while (for the sounds pages). Would anyone be interested in the establishment of a central DB for all sound files? Some kind of database driven website with full text searching on prompt script text, an indication of if the prompt is standard, extra, available from somewhere else etc?

If there's enough interest, it's something I'd probably be up for creating..

Some more additions:

amp (singular form missing from list)
volt (singular form missing from list)
watt (singular form missing from list)

ohm
ohms

farad
farads

degree (plural form already in asterisk-sounds)

kelvin (as in absolute temperature)

SI prefixes (http://physics.nist.gov/cuu/Units/prefixes.html):
yotta-
zetta-
exa-
peta-
tera-
giga-
mega-
kilo-
hecto-
deka-
deci-
centi-
milli-
micro-
nano-
pico-
femto-
atto-
zepto-
yocto-

SI binary prefixes (http://physics.nist.gov/cuu/Units/binary.html):
kibi-
mebi-
gibi-
tebi-
pebi-
exbi-

"It is suggested that in English, the first syllable of the name of the binary-multiple prefix should be pronounced in the same way as the first syllable of the name of the corresponding SI prefix, and that the second syllable should be pronounced as "bee.""

"hertz" is listed twice, under "APRS/Ham Radio" and "Misc"

Under "Misc", "herts" should be "hertz".

That'd be pretty cool, but as a first step it'd be great to clean up the duplication between asterisk/sounds and asterisk-sounds, then redo the wiki pages so that the correct filenames/text is listed.

If anyone has any private requests to make, please make them by email to robf at geekthing dot com, and I will be happy *not* to pass them on to CVS.  However, I would ask that such requests be accompanied by a donation.  Private requests without donations will be the first to be cut if I get too many requests and not enough funding.

How about all the US states and a random sprinkling of city names?

Also, I'd be willing to throw in a phrase I have already had recorded through The Voice, "All other options are left as an exercise for the caller."
